Mistakes when exercising without being able to lose weight

A lot of people spend hours at the gym and running, but still don’t see satisfactory results. If you are one of them, there is a good chance that you are making one of the following exercise mistakes: Times of India.

1. You consume protein after exercise

Protein is the foundation of life, and taking it after a workout can help the body repair itself and restore muscle. But consuming more protein shakes won’t help you reach your weight loss goals any faster. In general, a person participating in rigorous physical activity is recommended to have 1.2 to 2.0 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, according to The Times of India.

The excess protein is actually stored in the body as fat, while the excess amino acids are excreted. This can lead to weight gain over time.

2. You don’t go over your limit

To burn maximum calories and lose fat from your body, you need to push your limits. It is only when you challenge your body that you will be able to burn calories. For this you need to be consistent and exercise for at least 30-40 minutes a day.

This rule applies to all the exercises you do, whether it is the gym, walking or jogging.

3. You only focus on cardio exercises

The truth is, strength training can help you burn calories even while at rest. If you are focusing only on cardio, this may not be the case when your goal is to lose weight. Therefore, a balance should be maintained between the two types of exercises above.

4. Pay attention only to the scale

Remember, count by weight isn’t the only way to measure your progress. Weights can go up to 2 kg per day, depending on how much food and fluids we consume. You may experience the feeling of “tight” when you wear your clothes or you may feel your body lighter and healthier.

5. You did not eat enough before exercising

If you think that by exercising on an empty stomach you will be able to burn more calories, you are wrong. Fueling before exercise provides energy for activities and accelerates weight loss.

According to a study published in the Journal of Nutrition, consuming a high carbohydrate meal 60 minutes before exercise improves physical performance and increases fat burning, according to The Times of India.
