Wild boars have blue fat

All the fat in the pig is blue, while its flesh and blood are normal colors.

According to Iflscience, someone named GlendilTEK posted a photo of the pig on Imgur.com on 9/9. An American couple hunting on a farm in Morgan Hill, Calif., Found the pig straying in the bushes.

They shot him and took him home to be shot. When butchered, they were surprised to find that his fat was blue, while the other parts were still normal in color. The couple hunted many wild boars near the farm, but had never seen one like it.

The pork fat sample was sent to the University of California, Davis for testing. It is known that there are no old deposits of copper in the area that can cause this unusual green color, but only a few old deposits of mercury.

In 2002, Ugandan authorities also warned people not to eat green pork. A strange phenomenon caused the fat of many pigs in this country to turn green, while the meat was still normal in color. While no one died while eating this pork, experts warn it could have consequences in the future.

Scientists at Makerene Veterinary College in Uganda and a laboratory in Pirbright, UK also collected pig samples in Uganda for testing, but found no specific cause for lard conversion. .
