Seeing people drowning, elephants jumped into the river to save them

The elephant Kham Lha rushed towards the mahout, using his trunk to help him reach shore safely.

Mr. Darrick, a mahout in Thailand, often takes care of elephants from the first day they are born, so all of his personalities, habits and preferences are well known to him. In return, the baby elephant is also very fond of its owner, it almost wraps around it all day long, never letting a step.

Until one day the mahout took the herd of elephants to the riverside to drink water, while I was swimming nearby. When he pretended to drown and called for help, the elephant named Kham Lha didn’t care, ran straight into the flowing water to save his owner.

Although Darrick then swam in the shallows on his own, elephant Kham Lha carefully wrapped his trunk around him to make sure he reached shore safely.

Elephants are intelligent, loving and strong family animals, according to research, they even express grief when they lose family members. They care about each other and often greet each other by “hitting” the tap.
