The colors of the rainbow converge on the surface of the 440-meter-high Yosemite Waterfall, creating an extremely rare natural wonder.
The first rays of the sun are reflected by the water spray from Yosemite Falls in California, United States, causing the entire waterfall to transform into a longitudinal rainbow. Photographer Greg Harlow witnessed and recorded the scene while awaiting sunrise in the Sierra Nevada Mountains atop Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park, Story Trender reported on February 6.
“First, the waterfall turns red, then changes the spectrum into a rainbow of colors. Only two of us got to see this magnificent spectacle,” said Harlow.
“This is a really rare phenomenon due to the need to converge a particular set of conditions, but the major factor here is that gusts of wind rarely appear in Yosemite Valley. The spectrum that covers the waterfall is over 440 meters tall.
