The M-23M progressive ship was launched into space by the Combined Rocket (Soyuz-U) from the Baikonur Space Airport in Kazakhstan a day earlier on a schedule shortened to just six hours and was assembled in with ISS .
Ship nearly 2.5 tonnes of cargo to the ISS to support the life and operation of 6 crew members; Including fuel, equipment, water, oxygen, clothing, food, and packages for family and friends. The most special gifts that astronauts have always been waiting for are fresh fruit and candy.
Currently, six crew members are working on the ISS under the command of Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata. The rest include three Russian astronauts Alexander Skvortsov, Mikhail Tyurin, Oleg Artemyev and two American astronauts Richard Mastracchio, Steve Swanson.
After the shutdown of the space shuttle fleet, NASA is now completely dependent on Russia to bring astronauts to the ISS.
