The cute 51kg guinea pig is raised like …

American husband Melanie – Richard still decided to bring Gary home and take care of him as a member of the family.

Without a pet like a dog or cat in the house, the middle-aged American couple chose to befriend… a chubby and cute capybara. The chubby South American hamster Gary weighs 51 kg.

Gary is the name of this cute South American hamster, weighing almost 51 kg. Gary lives with his family in Buda City, Hays County, Texas, USA. Its owner – Mr. Richard Loveman, 54, and Mrs. Melanie Typaldos, 57, adopted Gary after the previous owner could no longer raise him. The couple “fell in love” at first sight with this underwater mammal.

The South American guinea pig is known to be the largest rodent in the world with a maximum weight of 90 kg. South American guinea pigs survive in both terrestrial and aquatic environments, but most of the time they are often submerged in water. Of course Gary is no exception, but he loves to swim.

Not only did they build a large backyard pool for Gary to wrestle with, but the couple also made a private place on the couch for Gary to lie down. They look at Gary

like a member of my family. “It gives us the same emotions, the same emotions as other pets, I can’t imagine what life would be like without it,” Ms. Melanie said.

Gary was given priority on a seat on the couch.

Mrs. Melanie said, Gary is very smart and friendly. Hearing the call, Gary will come to ask to sleep next to the couple. In addition, Gary learns students very quickly, even faster than a regular dog. Along with other animals in his family such as dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, turtles, Gary still has a social attitude, but he still enjoys playing the game of rabbit hunting.

The South American guinea pig plays with its animal friends.

Mélanie and her husband often take Gary to schools around Buda for students to visit. Like her husband and wife, children love to keep a hamster at home. However, Mélanie also recommends this idea because the South American guinea pig is sometimes very aggressive. With sharp teeth, they can injure people.
