Out of the blue moon, blood moon, now prepare to see the “pink moon” take place tomorrow night

Another lunar astronomical event is about to happen, but why is there such a strange name? Will the moon turn pink?

Many believed that the “worm super moon” in March was the last moon-related astronomical event of the year. But no!

Tomorrow – Friday April 19, lovers of astronomy will witness a phenomenon with an extremely romantic name: the pink moon.

This is the 4th full moon in 2019, after 3 super moons in the first three months of the year. However, even with such a “fairy” color, the Moon will not turn pink.

Similar to the “blue moon”, the “pink” in the name of the moon is also associated with external events. The name comes from the United States and Canada, as the full moon in April usually coincides with when the pink phlox flowers – also known as pink moss – start to bloom.

This phenomenon also has a number of other names such as “grass moon” or egg moon. In fact, North American Indians often name the full moon months based on the events of the year, for ease of timing.

What is even more amazing is that you can absolutely witness this event here in Vietnam. NASA said the full moon will be at 6:12 p.m. on April 19 Vietnam time, which means you will be able to see “Pink Moon” all night long tomorrow.
