Egypt discovers industrial area thousands of years old

On October 11, the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities announced the discovery of an ancient industrial park dating from the 18th Dynasty, from 1549 to 1292 BC. This is considered to be an ancient industrial park discovered in this country for thousands of years.

The leader of the archaeological team, Zahi Hawass, said the former industrial site was found in the western valley of the city of Luxor, also known as the Monkey Valley, when the team conducted research and excavated the above site since December 2017. Inside the industrial park, scientists found a large storage vault, a pottery kiln, a water tank, a ring of King Amenhotep III, hundreds of patterns decorative items and many gold items that were originally used for cooking. Decorate the coffins of kings.

In addition, Mr Hawass also announced another significant archaeological find during the research and excavation of Monkey Valley, a complex of 30 factories producing utensils, gold, ceramics, clothing and metal dating from the 18th Dynasty. The team of experts excavated the around the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun (also known as King Tut), and found many important artifacts, including tools for building tombs for the gods. The King of Egypt, along with other items such as linen, animal bones and wooden barrels … Mr Hawass added that the archaeological team also found a tomb in this valley of the apes. , bringing to 64 years the total number of tombs discovered in Egypt, all discovered by foreign archaeologists.

Archaeologists first excavated the Valley of the Kings, which includes the Valley of the Apes, looking for the tomb of Queen Nefertiti and her daughter Ankhsenamun, and the widow of King Tutankhamun. This is hard work because the topography of this area is rocky and sandy, so archaeologists call it a “noisy valley”. However, in 2011 the group was forced to stop digging for safety reasons, then resumed research in 2017 and discovered the former industrial area.

These are the latest archaeological finds in a series of ancient relic finds in Egypt that the country hopes will help restore the tourism industry, which has been severely affected by political instability.
