Decode the endless mysterious cry of Earth

Scientists have finally found a solution to the endless “u u” sounds of Earth.

Research recently published on the Livescience website has provided the solution to the mysterious and endless cries of Earth – which can cause our planet to fall into a state of severe “tinnitus”.

Scientists have long recognized that earthquakes can cause large echoes to appear on Earth that last for days or even months.

In the late 1990s, seismologists discovered that the earth still has a constant vibrating sound even in the absence of an earthquake. This phenomenon is also known as microseismic – microscopic earthquakes that are difficult for humans to feel.

However, recent expert research has shown that waves are the cause of these mysterious tremors.

The hypothesis is that the vibrations created by giant ocean waves can lead to the seabed.

Large waves “sway” the Earth as if they were tumbling down the geological layer below the seabed or the submarine continental shelf. Another opinion said the waves collided to cause such a shock.

However, all of these theories have yet to explain the cause of Earth’s strange sound tremors.

The new study combined all existing hypotheses, building models to track microseismic signals and motions in the seabed.

As a result, scientists have found that colliding waves to create seismic waves only takes 13 seconds or less to complete a ripple.

When they studied slower waves, they found that ocean waves moving under the seabed can produce seismic waves with frequencies between 13 and 300 seconds. Therefore, most of the mysterious hums on Earth will come from long waves that “move” across the ocean floor.

The oceanographer – lead author of the study – Mr. Fabrice Ardhuin said: “This study can help scientists progressively improve the map of the structure of the Earth’s inner layers”.
