Oddly enough, the emerald green river flows all year round

Located on the other side of the valley, crossing the west of Slovenia and the north-east of Italy, there is a very special river because all year round the water is emerald green.

Considered the green pearl of the Earth, Soca is one of the most wonderful rivers in the world. With a length of 140 km, the river crosses the limestone mountains of the Northwest Alps and flows directly into the Adriatic Sea.

Due to its passage through the territory of two countries, in Slonenia the river is called Soca, while in Italy the river is known as Isonzo.

The turquoise color of Soca’s water remains the same and remains almost unchanged throughout the flow. According to scientists, it is possible that the minerals in the limestone sediments create this strange blue color.

This jade flow also offers many tourist services for thriving adventure sports such as kayaking, mountaineering, waterfall crossing, paragliding and salmon fishing.

Tourists enjoy and freely explore the magnificent mountains and majestic rivers.

Even in winter, Soca still retains a beautiful blue watercolor.

Today, the number of tourists returning to Soca is increasing day by day. Concerned that the river landscape might lose its inherent pristine beauty, the Slovenian government encourages visitors to preserve the environment and place plenty of trash cans on the attraction.
