Flying car successfully tested: it takes 3 minutes to “transform” between the two shapes, flies continuously for 35 minutes, speed 190 km / h

AirCar, a vehicle that is both a car and an airplane, is now very close to commercial production after testing this week’s milestone.

AirCar, a vehicle that is both a car and an airplane, is now very close to commercial production after testing this week’s milestone. This vehicle flew 35 minutes from Nitra International Airport to Bratislava Airport on June 28, 2021.

KleinVision’s patented product, AirCar, made its 142nd successful landing at Bratislava Airport at 6:05 am. After landing, the driver only has to press a button and the vehicle quickly transforms into a sports car in just 3 minutes. The driver this time is none other than the inventor of AirCar, Professor Stefan Klein and company co-founder Anton Zajac. Thanks to the ability to fly, the time to complete the trip is cut in half.

“Professor Stefan Klein is a pioneer in the development of user-friendly flying cars. “According to Professor Branko Sarh, engineer at Boeing Co.” The smooth transition of the AirCar from road transport to air vehicle and vice versa, the ability to retract the wings and tail of the AirCar is the result of the enthusiasm, creativity and knowledge and experience of its specialized technique. “

The AirCar Prototype 1 prototype was powered by a 160 hp BMW engine with thrusters and a dedicated parachute. Under the supervision of the Civil Aviation Commission, AirCar completed over 40 hours of flight testing, including 45-degree turn and air stability tests. AirCar Prototype 1 flies at an altitude of 8,200 feet and reaches an average speed of 190 km / h.

AirCar Protoype 2, a pre-production version, will be powered by a 300 hp engine and will be EASA CS-23 certified for airplanes and M1 road license. With its variable-opening thrusters, the Protoype 2 should offer an average speed of 300 km / h and a maximum range of 1000 km.

“The test flight marks the beginning of the era of hybrid transport, bringing freedom to users. It is no longer just a viable idea. After this 8,200-foot flight, science fiction finally became a reality. – according to professors Klein and Anton, after exiting the cockpit of the AirCar in Bratislava.
