NASA announces two missions to explore Venus

NASA announced on June 2 that it plans to launch two new science missions to explore Venus between 2028 and 2030 to study the atmosphere and geological history of Earth’s “nearest neighbor”.

NASA has announced that it will provide up to $ 500 million for the development of the two missions mentioned above, named DAVINCI + and VERITAS.

According to the announcement, the DAVINCI + mission will study the composition of the atmosphere on Venus, thus helping to open up knowledge about the process of formation of the atmosphere on this star.

In addition, this mission will also be responsible for taking high-resolution images of the geological features of Venus.

Meanwhile, the VERITAS mission will help map the surface of Venus, helping to determine the geological history and discover why this star has a developed surface different from that of Earth.
