The tallest dog in the world has just passed away after years of living happily with its owner in the UK.
According to China News, on January 31 (local time), Freddy, the world’s tallest dog, died on January 31 (local time) on the Guinness World Records tweeter.
Freddy is a Great Dane dog, living with owner Claire Stoneman in the county of Essex, UK. The height from the foot to the shoulder of Freddy is about 1.03 meters, and when he is standing on his hind legs, his height can reach 2.26 meters.
Freddy’s height is no smaller than basketball superstars like LeBron James or Shaquille O’Neal, recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest dog in the world.
According to the Guinness World Records Organization, Freddy has a life expectancy of 8.5 years. The lifespan of most Great Dane species is between 8 and 10 years, and Freddy reaches over 2 meters tall when standing on two feet. (Photo: Daily Mail).
Ms Stoneman shared: “Freddy is not only the tallest dog, Freddy is also a loving dog and always knows how to make people laugh.”
Stoneman revealed that his “friend” was the smallest of his family of dogs.
“Freddy is a really nice giant dog. Everyone at Guinness World Records will remember Freddy,” said editor-in-chief Craig Glenday of the Guinness World Records Organization.
“I am very happy that we have the opportunity to record Freddy’s record height and share this dog’s story with millions of people around the world,” Glenday added.
