When will our land be destroyed?

When will the Earth be destroyed? In the next few billion years, the earth will be destroyed when the Sun is hundreds of times larger than it is now.

According to ScienceDaily, an international group of astronomers have used the world’s most powerful telescope to find the answers in the star L2 Puppis. Five billion years ago, this star was quite similar to the current Sun.

“In five billion years, the Sun will become a huge red star, more than 100 times bigger than it is now,” said Professor Leen Decin of the KU Leuven Institute of Astronomy.

“It has also suffered enormous loss from the huge volatile plasma bursting from the surface. In 7 billion years the Sun will be a small star, the size of Earth but heavy.”

The changing of the sun would have a powerful impact on the planets of the solar system. For example, Glass and Venus would be engulfed and destroyed by the massive star.

“The fate of Earth is not yet guaranteed,” Decin said. “We all know that the Sun will be brighter and bigger, so it could destroy any form of life on our planet. However, the rocky core of the Earth will survive the phase. The sun becomes a giant red star and continues to orbit this little star (7 billion years before the Sun) “.

To answer this question, a group of astronomers observed the evolution of the star L2 Puppis. This star is 208 light years from Earth. In astronomical terms, this distance is quite close. The researchers used the ALMA radio telescope. The giant ALMA telescope 16 km in diameter is made up of 66 radio antennas.

“We have discovered that L2 Puppis is 10 billion years old,” said Ward Homan of the Astronomical Institute at KU Leuven. “Five billion years ago, this star and our Sun were now like twins. So L2 Puppis will be the key point to answer the question we are looking for.”
