The small spider, Maratus Vilans, has a body length of around 4mm. While the female only has a normal brown, the male has bright colors such as orange, yellow, blue, and blue which are very pretty. This is why they are nicknamed “peacock spider” or “rainbow spider”.

Maratus Vilans has 8 legs like common spiders. Males often raise their brown legs – with colorful feathers – to attract the attention of the female.

Amateur photographer Jurgen Otto spotted this unusual spider in the wild for the first time, but he easily took photos of them at his home in Sydney.
