June 16, 2012: China successfully launched the Shenzhou 9 spacecraft

Shenzhou 9 is China’s first manned spacecraft launched into space, to assemble it with the Thien Cung 1 module. June 2012, at the Tuuquan Satellite Launch Center, Gansu, China.

Shenzhou 9 carries the first Chinese astronaut Liuyang, 33, the main pilot of the People’s Liberation Army, and two other astronauts, Jing Haipeng (commander-in-chief) and Liu. Wang.

June 16, 1922: invented the first helicopter

In 1922, Henry A. Berliner demonstrated that planes can take off vertically, without needing a long runway as before. The first prototype of the helicopter was built by Berliner and certified by the United States Aviation Administration.

Berliner’s invention changed the way war was waged, as flying planes greatly increased the mobility of the army. The Berliner prototype is still essentially a regular fighter, but has two overhead propellers with a wingspan of 4.2 meters, a Bentley engine of 220 horsepower. June 16, 1911: the forerunner of IBM is created

IBM is the world’s first computer technology company, but few know it was founded in 1911 as the Computing-Tabulation-Recording Company (CTR). Before that, in 1890, Dr. Herman Hollerith invented an electrical machine that used United States Census data.
