Discovery of extremely rare planets 3 “Sun”

Coming to this planet you will have the opportunity to enjoy the sunrise and sunset 3 times a day.

Do you think the vast universe exists a fictional planet with 2 suns like the planet Tatooine in Star Wars author Luke Skywalker?

But now astronomers have discovered a planet with 3 “Suns” which is 340 light years from Earth! And of course, they are unlike any other planet in the world.

This planet, named HD 131399Ab, was discovered by a team from the University of Arizona at Tucson. According to experts, if you migrate to the planet, you will be able to enjoy the sunrise and sunset continuously 3 times a day, depending on the season.

The planet HD 131399Ab, about 16 million years old, is believed to be one of the youngest exoplanets discovered to date and one of the few to have a direct and clear image.

Astrophysicist Daniel Apai and head of research for planetary sciences shared: “With a temperature of 580 degrees Celsius and about four times heavier than Jupiter (the largest gas planet in the solar system), HD 131399Ab is the one of the planets are photographed directly with interesting dynamic profiles ”.

Thanks to the SPHERE telescopic observations, this strange planet orbits around the brightest point of three stars on a very long and wide line. The 3 stars revolve around each other.

The team of astronomers discovered this strange planet using the SPHERE astronomical tool located at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in northern Chile. It is one of the most modern astronomical tools that searches for planets orbiting other stars.

The instrument’s extremely wide spectrum is highly sensitive to infrared light, capable of detecting signs of heat from the outer planets of the universe.

Currently, experts are observing the movement of HD 131399Ab and precisely determining the orbit of the planet between its host stars.

Recently, astronomers have also discovered planets with up to 2 suns (binary star system, binary star system) – named Kepler 1647b. It is the largest planet orbiting a binary star system – that is, a planet that does not revolve around one star as usual, but around two stars.

Kepler 1647b is about 4.4 billion years old, which is equivalent to the age of the Earth, and each star in this system is roughly the same size as the Sun.

The research is published in the journal Science.
