Researchers have discovered a new species of transparent fish in the Amazon rainforest.
Small and transparent, this fish has been “hidden” for several decades.
On the surface, this fish has an average length of about 17 mm. This is the reason why the scientists who found them believe that it is the smallest fish known to scientists.
In fact, perhaps due to their transparent structure, which is so small in size, scientists haven’t discovered them in the past few decades. It may be a nocturnal species.
This new fish was discovered in the Rio Negro region, a tributary of the Amazon, and was named Cyanogaster noctivage (blue-bellied night wanderer).
