What if the Earth lost its gravity in just 5 seconds?

These would be the 5 worst seconds in human history …

Art, poetry, and music are the things that keep our minds off the clouds and on the wind. And gravity is what keeps our feet on the ground.

Without poetry and music, life would be dull – but without gravity, you wouldn’t even be able to stand there complaining about boredom.

Gravity pulls objects towards each other. The bigger the object, the stronger the gravity. The closer the object is to you, the greater its gravity.

Earth – sure, very large and very close, its gravity makes humans walk on the ground and this is the same culprit who smashed all the piles of dishes you washed last week. The sun is millions of times larger than the Earth, and it is thanks to the gravity of the Sun that the planets have their orbits.

You must have seen movies about astronauts who are extremely confused about the flagging of national flags on the Moon. Why can they take such a long, bounce, bounce on the moon? Because the Moon is much smaller than the Earth, the gravitational pull for the astronaut has since also been much weaker than for the Earth. This is the same reason why astronauts hover weightless in their spaceships.

If the Earth suddenly lost all of its gravity, the problems wouldn’t come just from everything starting to float. Without Earth’s enormous gravity, humans or any other mass element, like cars and buildings, would instantly sway at breakneck speed through the air. Indeed, even if it loses gravity, the earth continues to rotate without gravity retaining the objects attached to it.

If your laptop accidentally flies into space, don’t regret it because you will have to face the worst 5 seconds of your life. By losing gravity, the Earth will have nothing to hold air, water and atmosphere.

This sudden and significant disappearance will instantly destroy a person’s internal auditory system. Think about the pressure that makes your ears ringing when skydiving or diving, this disappearance is even more sudden and intense. Concrete structures will collapse because oxygen – an important binder – has left the planet.

This is the most terrible scenario: water loses oxygen, becomes hydrogen gas, and immediately explodes from inside the living cells themselves. The explosion will end in just 5 seconds, but certainly neither of us will be alive until gravity returns.
