Elon Musk reveals why SpaceX’s SN10 rocket exploded

On 3/3, the last discovery rocket from Mars – SN10 landed successfully but exploded again. According to Elon Musk, the cause stems from a collision during landing.

“A collision at 10 m / s damaged the base and the body of the rocket,” Elon Musk said on Twitter.

The SN10 landed at a fairly high speed and bounces off the ground a bit when exposed. After touching the airstrip, the missile was tilted slightly to one side, with thermal overload.

SpaceX narrator John Inspruker claimed it was a successful landing as the missile was repairing itself.

However, fuel leaks due to damage to the base and body of the SN10 caused it to explode after a few minutes.

Arguably, the success of the SN10 landing was a big step forward for SpaceX, as the previous two prototypes hadn’t landed very well. Elon Musk said the company is working on the next missile model – SN11.

SN11 was reportedly present at SpaceX’s launch site in Boca Chica, Texas. The test launch process will be implemented soon.

Hopefully SN11 will pass the challenge “intact”.
