The research results were then sent to the scientific journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, according to MSN.
The planet EPIC 228813918b orbits an M-type dwarf named EPIC 228813918. With an orbital completion time of less than 4.5 hours, one day on Earth would equal more than 5 years on this planet. So if you live on EPIC 228813918 b, humans can reach a lifespan of up to 150,000 years.
However, scientists believe that the strong radiation generated when planet EPIC 228813918b moves too close to its mother star could affect life here. If you lead a normal life, you will sleep for up to 2 years every time you lie down, so those 150,000 years will pass very quickly.
Interestingly, EPIC 228813918 b is approximately the size of Earth with an estimated 45% iron composition. But it is still not the shortest orbiting planet ever discovered.
