Three new small circular holes appear on the surface of the Sun, creating a gentle geomagnetic storm towards Earth

The Sun “plays” again, and the Earth they must suffer the consequences. The surface of the Sun has just appeared a number of small round holes – coronal holes, creating geomagnetic storms towards the Earth.

“New Hole in the Sun” sounds scary, but in reality this phenomenon is quite normal, especially when the Sun enters the solar minimum. It’s also a normal phase of the Sun’s lifecycle, so don’t worry too much.

Although during this period of the Minimum appear small holes which are not too big, but we will still experience geomagnetic storms. These holes have a lower temperature than the surface of the Sun, the amount of plasma is not too dense, and they all have an open magnetic field.

This allows the solar wind to escape easily, turning into electromagnetic radiation back to Earth.

Last week, three new small craters opened, the high-speed solar wind escaped towards Earth. It can be called this solar storm, but unlike the usual sea storm, it does not contain much danger. This storm reached the lowest possible alert level, the solar storm category G1.

This means that the entire population of Earth will not notice a significant change.

But the power grid may be slightly affected, including power outages, satellite communications are slightly affected, GPS service or Internet / satellite TV will experience brief failure.

Other than that, there is no significant effect. And geomagnetic storms are not the cause of the loss of HBO, Starmovie … on television.

On this occasion, there will be some interesting natural phenomena that will take place. Residents of high latitudes may be lucky enough to witness the Northern Lights present in both polar regions of the Earth.
